Hong Kong Public Libraries Chinese eBooks Collection at Apabi

This is a collection of about 30,000 titles of Chinese eBooks published in the Mainland accessible at the Founder Apabi D-Lib and made available to the Hong Kong Public Libraries' library cardholders via the Internet.

The Collection covers a wide range of subjects, including Philosophy, Social Sciences, Politics and Law, Economics, Culture, Linguistics, Literature, Arts, History, Geography, Natural Science, Industrial Technology, Transportation, Sports and Fitness etc. and includes texts suitable to general readers as well as reference works and more specialized works for professionals and advanced readers. Teenage readers may wish to seek guidance from parents, teachers or librarians when selecting reading materials from this Collection.

Readers are required to download the Apabi Reader from the homepage of Founder Apabi D-Lib for reading the fulltext of the eBooks. Please click Apabi Reader to download and follow the instructions on screen to install the software. Fulltext searching is available for readers to search the contents of all the Chinese eBooks. Internet Explorer 5.5 or above should be used to access the Apabi Chinese eBooks.

When readers check out or reserve the Chinese eBook, it will be locked up with the computer being used. They are, therefore, advised not to use the public computer workstations, such as the computers in the public libraries, to check out the Chinese eBooks.

To search and check out Chinese eBooks at Founder Apabi D-Lib (For Hong Kong Public Libraries' library card holders only )

1. Adults Collection – suitable for readers age 12 or above

2. Children's Collection – suitable for readers age below 12
