Hong Kong Village Life Collection

This collection contains 1,200 books and 1,000 historical documents obtained from several early New Territories citizens, covering land sale, education, literature, medical and geomancy. These valuable books and documents are the first-hand sources of information for the study of economy, social and cultural development of early Hong Kong and traditional village life.

Books of Hong Kong Village Life Collection can be search through the Library's Online Public Access Catalogue and the printed book and historical documents' catalogues are also available in the Hong Kong Literature Room. Partial collection of documents and manuscripts have been digitized and can be accessed via the Multimedia Information System of Hong Kong Public Libraries.
