Hong Kong Collection

The Hong Kong Collection is a comprehensive collection of Hong Kong related materials , including books, periodicals, government publications, audiovisual and multimedia materials, CD-ROM databases, maps, and others. The Collection has grown to over 70,000 items and is being maintained at the Hong Kong Central Library, the City Hall Public Library, the Kowloon Public Library, Shatin Public Library, Tsuen Wan Public Library and Tuen Mun Public Library.

The Collection is the most heavily used special collection in the reference libraries, providing members of the public with current and retrospective information on Hong Kong. The Collection at the HK Central Library is the largest, containing historical documents and government publications, including a complete run of government gazettes since 1853, administrative and annual reports of the government since 1879, departmental reports, district board minutes and papers, statistical information and ad-hoc publications.

The Collection also incorporates the Airport and Port Projects Resource Centre (APPRC) Collection which consists of 1,039 volumes of documents in about 600 titles. The documents are planning papers and consultancy reports on various aspects of the new airport project and associated core development projects.
