The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO) was established in 1946 for the purpose of promoting international
peace and common welfare of mankind through educational, scientific and
cultural exchanges and co-operation. UNESCO has started a depository programme
with the Hong Kong Public Libraries in October 1993. There are now 700
items in the Collection.
Useful serial titles deposited by the UNESCO include the "Asian/Pacific
Book Development Quarterly", the "UNESCO Statistical Yearbook"
and the "World Education Report."
The above depository collection is available for public use in the Hong
Kong Central Reference Library (8/F) during library opening hours. For
